Synopsis

This course is an introduction to Communication Studies. It provides an overview of a broad range of approaches to Communication Studies. Students apply a number of different approaches to text analysis, and develop basic research literacy skills. This course provides an introduction to a number of communication topics and perspectives that are explored at a more advanced level in subsequent courses in the Communication and Media Studies major. The course develops skills in communications research, essay and report writing and critical thinking.
