Synopsis
This course is designed f to develop knowledge and diverse perspectives on sport which is relevant to a range of sports related discipline areas. The course aims to provide students with the opportunity to research issues related to the sociology of sport and to reflect on and apply this information in professional situations. It is expected that students will develop skills in a range of understandings and competencies for interpreting and evaluating sociology of sport issues within the wider and complex social environment of Australia and the world. The opportunity for active participation in the course is provided via reflection upon personal experiences and acquired knowledge through cooperative group-work, discussion forums and feedback sessions. Should enrolments not reach the minimum number required for on-campus study, students may be transferred to the ONLINE offering and advised of this change before semester commences.
