Pre-requisite: EDP3333 and EDC3100

Students must have successfully completed the entire previous year's professional experience courses in order to enrol in this course.

Students must be available for a prescribed period of time to undertake a placement in a school or other approved site as required in this course.

State law in Queensland (Australia) requires that all adults working/undertaking professional experience/researching with children under the age of 18, in the state of Queensland are required to possess a current suitability card (Blue Card). Synopsis

Students will understand technology as a human activity and the contribution of technology education to general education. They will investigate Australian and Queensland curriculum documents relevant to technology education and develop related knowledge and skills. They will apply pedagogical approaches appropriate to technology education as the basis for planning and adapting relevant learning activities. The course will emphasise experiential learning, including through the integration of ICT, appropriate to technology education by engaging students in individual and collaborative activities. The course includes a 15-day professional experience placement during which student will plan and teach in an appropriate setting and investigate the implementation of technology education in context.
