SynopsisThis course surveys the history of literary theory and criticism, with a focus on the development of prominent movements in the twentieth century based on historical perspectives. The survey spans from the classical period to issues in contemporary critical theory, tracing the influence of classical and neoclassical thinkers in recent critical perspectives, including Feminism, Marxism, Structuralism, Formalism, and Psychoanalytic Criticism.
