Synopsis
The course takes learners from complete beginner to pre-elementary level. The syllabus is structured to provide guidance in grammar, and vocabulary, while at the same time improving student proficiency in all language skills. The syllabus is also organised functionally so key language knowledge and skills' such as introductions, invitations, telling the time and asking for information, are practiced in communicative context. The course aims to foster learner independence through a programme of extensive reading and activities directed by teachers but completed outside the classroom. There is a general aim of increased language proficiency in all components with a particular focus on the development of literacy and numeracy skills.
