Synopsis

The Pre-Intermediate course presents different themes such as work, leisure, daily routines, holidays, geography, health and culture around which a variety of listening, speaking, reading and writing skills are introduced and practised. The four macroskills are developed through role play and information gap, questionnaires, pronunciation, dictation, listening for gist, specific information and detail, skimming, scanning, reading for gist and detail, writing sentences and paragraphs. Directed self-study at the Pre-intermediate level consolidates and extends training students to become more autonomous learners.
