An investigation into mining in the Clarence-Moreton Basin communities - the Felton project.

There are significant mineral deposits in the Clarence-Moreton Basin. Changes resulting from major industrial activities such as mining can and often do produce a complex mixture of positive and negative impacts on local communities. The purpose of the study is to increase our knowledge and understanding of the anticipated economic, social, environmental and health impacts of minerals development.

The project benefits are a better understanding of the social, economic and environmental factors of minerals development which can impact on a community. The increased understanding of the impacts could be applied to other settings.
