Evaluation of Health Careers in the Bush (HCB)

This is an independent evaluation of the Queensland Health funded Year 10 and 12 Health Careers Workshops conducted by the Rural Health Training Units (RTHU) in the Northern, Central and Southern Zones of Queensland.

The evaluation shall use a broad approach to achieve its three primary objectives:

  1. To develop a series of evaluation tools (pre, during and post workshop questionnaires) which can be implemented across the state for use at Health Careers Workshops by all RHTUs;
  2. To establish the impact of Health Careers Workshops on career choice/pathways by conducting a survey/interview with past workshops participants; and
  3. To develop a centralised database for all RHTUs to input into, which can be used as a longitudinal planning and policy development tool to facilitate recruitment of health professionals to rural and remote Queensland.
