Why nurses stay in nursing - character and personality variables

In order to address the worldwide shortage of nurses, many studies of nurses have been undertaken to quantify turnover; calculated expected retention; presented the causes of intended departure; and determined the reasons for taking breaks. However little is known about the fundamental workforce issue of why people stay in the profession. This project proposes to determine if there are character and personality traits that are associated with nurse retention.
