Looking after you

We understand that you’re going to be busy. You might find that trying to balance your job, your commitments and study is a challenge.

Don't worry, and more importantly, don't give up. At USQ, we have dedicated services to help with all those issues.

Helping you out academically

The Learning Centre is here to help you with your academic concerns or questions. They have been helping USQ students for the past 20 years and they know what they are talking about.

  Have a look at the huge range of online resources offered by The Learning Centre – if you have an issue it will probably be covered here. They can even help you brush up on your maths skills for economics, statistics, nursing or engineering.
The Learning Centre conducts workshops designed to prepare you for the academic demands of university, especially if it has been a while since you have studied.
The Learning Centre staff are highly qualified, motivated and want to see you succeed. Best of all, everything they offer, the quick tips, the online resources and individual or small group consultations are free!

 

 

 

 

 

 

Don't wait until it’s too late to speak to them. Go online, give them a call or email them to see what's on offer and how it might help you.

Helping you out personally

As the semester progresses, your situation may change or things may be more difficult than you thought they would be. You may need to work more, your family and friends might be making you feel guilty about not spending time with them, you are short of money or it might just seem too hard.

  The staff at Student Services can help with a wide range of online resources and personal counselling.
It is important to be realistic and give yourself some time to adjust to studying.
Do you need help with finances , personal issues or career planning?
Stress can be a real issue, especially from the third week of semester when your first pieces of assessment are due. Find out how to cope with stress.

 

 

 

 

 

Helping you find balance

Learning how to balance study, work and the rest of your life is one of the challenges of being a student. But there’s no need to panic …we’ve assembled some essential tips to get you started:

  • Working to a Timetable

The trick to successful study is being organised and not being afraid to ask for help, information or support. Probably the best way to be organised with your study is to create a timetable. That way you can fit everything in – work, study, family, sport, socialising and holidays.
