The different colours of academic dress represent each degree and faculty. These colours are featured on the academic dress worn by graduates at graduation ceremonies.

The standard colours correspond with colour and numbers from the British Colour Council Dictionary of Colours Standards and are as follows:

Gown	Black gown of Cambridge BA style
Stole	Black stole, linked to 5cm with field of study/Faculty/School colour (except for the Associate Degree in Education which is a black stole fully lined with the field of study/Faculty/School colour)
Headwear	Black cloth mortarboard with black tassel

 

Bachelor and Bachelor (Honour)
