Travel and Parking
The Hilton Kuala Lumpur Hotel is located opposite the KL Sentral Station. Paid car parking is available at the Hotel (approx. RM8).
Please arrive at the Hilton Kuala Lumpur Hotel (HKLH) at least one and a half hours prior to the ceremony. Arriving early will ensure you have enough time for registration, gowning and seating allocation prior to the ceremony.
On arrival at the Hilton Kuala Lumpur Hotel (Level 6) you will register, pay your RM300 refundable gowning deposit (cash) and be issued with a seating card for the ceremony, as well as your guest tickets for your two free guests, and any paid guests. You will be shown to the Gowning Room (Sentral Ballroom A) where you will be provided with the correct academic dress for your program. Once gowned, find your way to the Grand Ballroom (Level 6) and be seated at least 30 minutes prior to the start of the ceremony in your allocated seat (seating card). All graduates are seated together at the front of the Ballroom.
The duration of the graduation ceremony is usually one and a half to two hours. Once the ceremony concludes, you and your guests are invited to join USQ representatives for light refreshments in the Lake Garden Foyer (Level 6).
Don't forget to return your academic dress and receive your RM300 deposit refund within one hour after your ceremony.
The graduation ceremony venue has disabled access, however if you have any concerns regarding access please contact the Graduations Office via email or phone +61 7 4631 1647, so that we can accommodate you and your guests on your graduation day. Graduates are seated in order of being called onstage, so if you have special requirements, please let us know in advance.
You are required to indicate the number of guests you would like to attend the ceremony when you register for this ceremony in your Student Centre or via the Manual Response Form prior to Friday 6 March 2015. You may bring a maximum of two free guests (not including yourself) to the ceremony. Children are welcome however each child who occupies a seat will be counted as one guest.
If you would like to bring more (paid) guests please contact email@example.com before Friday 13 March 2015 to arrange to add your guests and make payment. Please remember that tickets are issued for all ceremony guests, and must be collected on the day from registration by the graduate. No reserved seating is allocated for guests. Guests may select from the seats available on the day.
USQ provides an official photographer from Love & Lace Studio on the day of the ceremony to take studio photographs before and after the ceremony, and when you receive your testamur (certificate) on stage. After the USQ Graduation Ceremony Fee payment date (Friday 13 March) closes, you may have other studio photography taken (Monday 16 March – Friday 27 March 2015) at Love and Lace Studio to avoid long queues on the day. It is not possible to have photographs taken before this time. Please note, it is not possible to borrow academic gowns before or after the ceremony.
