Clubs and societies

We have a range of affiliated clubs and societies for you to consider. Joining a club or society can be rewarding - it’s an opportunity to meet new people, to keep fit and to have fun. It also gives you the chance to enjoy a life outside of academia. If you are interested in becoming a committee member of a club or society these skills will assist you when entering your chosen profession and become invaluable life skills.

How do I join a USQ club or society?

If you are interested in contacting a club or society you can go to them directly or drop into our Phoenix Central Office. Affiliated clubs and societies also participate in USQ events throughout O Week such as Market Day, so you will have the opportunity to talk with members or sign-up.

Why should we become a USQ affiliated club or society?

There are a number of benefits in affiliating your club or society with USQ, including:

  • support and advice on running a club from Phoenix Central
  • increased exposure through promotional material (i.e. USQ website, calendar of events, brochures and posters)
  • free stalls will be provided during O Week
  • equipment can be borrowed to assist in fundraising (i.e. BBQ)
  • access to free/or subsidised on-campus room bookings.

Whats next?

1. New Club and Societies are to submit an Expression of Interest Form
2. All Club and Societies are to complete an Application Form
3. All applications are reviewed and assessed
4. Club and Societies and USQ sign off on an Agreement
5. Welcome Pack is provided.

Clubs and societies can also apply for a financial grant to help kick-start their activities. Grant Application forms are available from Phoenix Central.
