Costs

As a guide, we recommend that you have at least AUD10 000 for your overseas study experience and you should consider the following fees and financial assistance options.

Exchange costs

As a USQ student participating in an overseas exchange, you are required to pay the following:

  • tuition fees or student contribution to USQ
  • accommodation fees to the host university
  • overseas health cover
  • visa application fees
  • travel insurance
  • all flights and appropriate transport
  • personal spending money and other associated living costs.

Study abroad costs

As a USQ student participating in a direct study abroad experience, you are required to pay the following:

Funding options

There are several funding options available to help make your dream of studying abroad a reality:

OS-HELP loan

The Australian Government has introduced an initiative called the OS-HELP loan. This scheme provides financial assistance to Australian students wishing to study abroad in the form of a loan. Candidates may be eligible for up to $5000 for each semester abroad.

Study abroad grant

USQ International offers a Study Abroad Grant of up to $2000. Ask the Study Abroad Coordinator about how to apply.

Youth allowance

Individuals who receive Youth Allowance may still be eligible to receive this money while studying abroad.

Scholarships

Other scholarships may become available throughout the year. Ask the Study Abroad Coordinator for more details.
