Restrictions, Cancellations and Reinstatements

It is important to be aware of the penalties involved in non-compliance with USQ's fee policies.

Restrictions

Commonwealth Supported Students

If you fail to submit a Request for Commonwealth Support and HECS-HELP where required, by the payment due date, your web access will be denied.

Student Services and Amenities fee (SA Fee)

If you fail to pay your Student Services and Amenities fee by the due date, your access to the web will be withdrawn. Web access will be reinstated within 24 hours of payment being received at the University.

Eligible students may opt to defer this fee by completing their online SA-HELP form prior to the semester census date.

Tuition/Direct Fee Paying Students

If you fail to pay your tuition/direct fees by the due date your access to the web will be withdrawn. Web access will be automatically reinstated within 24 hours if payment of fees is received at the University after the due date but before close of business on census date.

Students should familiarise themselves with University Enrolment policy 5.1 regarding payment of tuition/direct fees.

International Direct Students

International students who pay their fees directly to USQ are subject to the same restrictions for non-payment of those for domestic tuition/direct fee students above.

International Students with Partner/Agent

Students whose fee arrangements are with an agent or partner, and not directly with USQ, must comply with the fee policies of that agent or partner.

Cancellations

Commonwealth Supported Students

If you fail to pay your up-front student contribution amount (and have not provided your Tax File Number) by the census date your semester enrolment will be cancelled and due to Government legislation, enrolment cannot be reinstated after the semester's census date.

If you fail to pay up-front student contribution by the census date but have provided your Tax File Number, your student contribution amount will be deferred to a HECS-HELP loan, if you are eligible.

New Zealand citizens and Australian Permanent Residents are not eligible for HECS-HELP assistance and are required to pay their student contribution up-front without a discount each semester by the payment due date. If you fail to pay your upfront student contribution by the census date your enrolment will be cancelled.

If you have been offered a Commonwealth supported place or are transferring to a new Commonwealth supported program you are required to submit a Request for Commonwealth support and HECS-HELP form. If you fail to submit this form by the census date your enrolment must be cancelled due to legislative requirements.

Students who fail to make full payment of tuition/direct fees by the census date will have their enrolment for that semester cancelled.

International Students

Students who fail to make full payment of international fees by the census date will have their enrolment for that semester cancelled, and will be reported to authorities if in violation of their visa.
