Welfare Service

USQ has a Student Welfare Officer that can assist you with issues that may come up during your study.

The Welfare Officer can help you with:

  • tenancy issues (problems with land lords, realty agents or roommates);
  • sourcing emergency assistance (food, accommodation, finance etc);
  • referring to legal support;
  • connecting with community agencies/ support;
  • budgeting and financial support, and 
  • general accommodation enquiries

Appointments

You can make an appointment with a Welfare Officer through Student Services reception. Alternatively, you may be referred to a Welfare Officer through a counsellor.

Accommodation options

There are different accommodation options available to you, in the Toowoomba, Springfield and Fraser Coast (Hervey Bay) areas.

Toowoomba

Accommodation options in Toowoomba include:

  • on-campus at Residential Colleges
  • off-campus in share accommodation
  • with a Homestay family (if you are an English Language student).

Fraser Coast

Accommodation options available in Hervey Bay include:

  • private rental
  • shared student accommodation.

Springfield

The Residential Village is a community situated within Education City at Springfield and offers accommodation, cafes, restaurants, shops and student services in one central location.

Applications for accommodation can be made to the Springfield Residential Village.
