Mental Health Week

Mental Health Week will be celebrated across USQ from 7 -13 October 2012 with activities on all three USQ campuses. The theme this year is 'Working towards well-being'.

Well-being is the balance of your physical, mental, emotional and social health. Maintaining this balance will help you to be happy and satisfied with your life. Your well-being is influenced by many things including: your relationships, how you manage your work and study, taking care of yourself and being involved in your community.

How to achieve well-being

  • Relationships - put time aside to keep in touch with family and friends.
  • Work and study - find enjoyable and fulfilling work where possible.
  • Physical Health - ensure that you eat healthy and nutritious foods, try to be active and excercise regularly.
  • Community - undertake activities of interest - join a club in your local area.
  • Mental Health - try to set realistic goals to work towards and appreciate the positives in your life

For more tips on improving your well-being, see the Mental Health NetworkBetter Health Channel and Beyond Blue websites. You can also visit our online resource, The Desk, which has been developed to assist students to maintain or improve their physical and mental wellbeing, and to study more effectively, .
