Late assignments and extensions

The dates on which assignments are due will be openly published and students will be expected, under normal circumstances, to accept responsibility for organising their affairs to meet set deadlines. Extensions for assignment submission may be granted in extenuating circumstances.

The decision to grant or refuse an extension is made by the course examiner. Students should be aware the application for an extension of time does not guarantee the extension will be granted.

Students should apply for an extension in writing with appropriate supporting documentation prior to submitting an assignment. Where that is not possible, students can apply for an extension at the time of submitting an assignment by completing the ‘Assignment Extension' box on the front of the assignment coversheet. For a CMA assignment, attach a letter to the CMA mail-in answer sheet. All relevant documentation should accompany the application.

Students may wish to discuss the due date with the lecturer. It is recommended that they submit a query via USQAssist to arrange contact.

To apply for an extension of time for an assignment due, use the Ask a Question tab at USQAssist and send your request to Student Support by selecting 'Other' as the Question Type. Alternatively, you can post your application to:
