Types of assignments
Written assignments
All assignments (except CMA assignments) are to be submitted using an assignment coversheet. Use one coversheet per assignment. Personalised assignment coversheets are available from UConnect.
Computer Managed Assessment
The Computer Managed Assessment (CMA) system provides computer-marked testing of particular subject areas. The main advantage to you, as a student, will be the provision of rapid feedback on your CMA test performance, and the associated capacity to pinpoint problems.
CMA tests may be completed online or on mail-in answer sheets. Consult your CMA book for details as the requirements differ from course to course.
If you are using the mail-in answer sheets, please read the instructions carefully. Place the appropriate bar coded assignment label on this sheet. Do not use a coverseet for this type of assignment. Place the answer sheet only in an envelope and mail it to DeC by the due date.
Disks and CDs
USQ is not responsible for damage to disks/cds in transit. It is your responsibility to mail these items correctly using the special mailers available from Australia Post. These special mailers will be used for the return of your disks/cds.
Remember to label both the disk/cd and the mailing box with your name, student number, course number and assignment number. Attach the disk/cd to a coversheet and write ‘disk' or ‘CD' on the front. If you've been issued with a barcode label, placed it on the coversheet as normal, not on the disk/cd.
Drawing assignments
A completed coversheet should be rolled around the assignment. The drawing and coversheet should then be placed inside a mailing cylinder. Your examiner may expect you to send your assignment to DeC ‘flat' or ‘folded', using special Australia Post packages. Consult assessment instructions in your Introductory Book for this information.
