TextbooksEach course specification included in your introductory materials lists the textbooks required for that course. Textbooks are able to be purchased from the USQ Bookshop in person, online or via an order form, or from any bookstore within your area. The USQ Bookshop online textbook search facility contains the latest information (including price and availability) on the textbooks required to be purchased for each course. You will need your USQConnect username and password to access this facility. Second-hand textbooksText books are also available second-hand. The Student Guild has a web service for second-hand books at www.onlinebooks.com.au. This service allows you to buy and sell current textbooks directly to and from other students. You are also able to sort the results of your search by suburb/city. If you are selling books you must first register and login on the Student Guild web site. However, if you are buying you do not need to login, just start searching. Students also occasionally advertise books for sale on course discussion groups and the USQ General discussion group. You can access course discussion groups from your USQStudyDesk at USQConnect. Textbooks at the LibraryThe Library holds at least one copy of all textbooks and recommended references for each course. They are held in the Reserve Collection of the Library, which is located behind the Loans Desk. If you are on campus and would like to borrow a textbook or recommended reference (PDF*) you will need to copy down the title and call number and ask a staff member at the Loans Desk to get it for you. It is important to remember that books in the Reserve Collection are on short term loan and penalty points accrue at the rate of one point per hour for late return. *This file is in Portable Document Format (PDF) which require the use of Adobe Acrobat Reader. A free copy of Acrobat Reader may be obtained from Adobe. |
