UMail
There are some exciting improvements to your email communication with USQ. From 28 September 2009 and in partnership with Google, we will be launching 'UMail' - USQ's new and improved email service for students.
What will my Email account be?
Your USQ student email address will be: <username>@umail.usq.edu.au. All communication sent from the University will be sent to this email address.
How to Access your Email Account
Access to your ‘UMail’ will be via a button on the ‘JustU’ Tab of the new USQ Portal ‘UConnect’. The username and password are synchronised with your USQ username and password.
Key features of ‘UMail’:
- Life-long email address
- Reliable and consistent vehicle for all USQ communications
- Larger File Capacity (7GB mailbox (500 times more storage than USQ’s current WebMail))
- 25MB attachment size
- Forward your email from ‘UMail’ to another personal email address (i.e. Hotmail/Yahoo).
What will happen to my existing USQ Webmail Account
If you subscribed to USQ’s current Webmail account, all email sent to your old email address <studentnumber@mail.connect.usq.edu.au> will automatically be forwarded to your new UMail account <studentnumber@umail.usq.edu.au>.
Your old email account will still be available to you for a period of 90 days.
Will my old email be migrated to the new UMail account?
No, your old email will not automatically be migrated to your new UMail account, however from within the new UMail service you will be able to configure it to ‘pull’ all your existing email from other email accounts.
