The Division's purpose is to support USQ by providing quality information resources and services and high-quality learning resources and maintain the USQ competitive business advantage by providing the highest quality education experience to students irrespective of their location or lifestyle.

Organisational Structure

The Division consists of three organisational units under the leadership and direct responsibility of the Executive Director, Professor Alan Smith:

The functions of DeC include learning resource development; electronic publishing; cross-media publishing; multimedia and web development; media; and distribution.

The Library services include the range of traditional client-focussed information enquiry and support services, information literacy programs, and access to physical resource collections, academic content repositories and electronic journal, e-book and other databases.

The ADFI focus consists of three areas of activity relating to e-research, e-learning, and global collaboration respectively, and consists of two physical environments. The Software Research and Development Laboratory (located in Y block) which accommodates the software research and development team, and the Technology Enhanced Learning Laboratory (located in S block) which provides a facility for staff and students to investigate technology enhanced learning innovations.
