Bachelor of Applied Media (Theatre)
Through our Bachelor of Applied Media (Theatre) you will master your choice of theatre performance, theory or stage management at Australia’s second oldest actor-training institution. You will also be given the skills to sustain a career in theatre by creating your own material for performance and get an equal mix of studio and practice and theory-led learning.
Coupling the Theatre major with the Bachelor of Applied Media will give you specialist skills in digital television production, digital audio production and broadcast radio. You will develop and produce a large amount of television and radio content for community broadcast, giving you practical, hands-on experience and developed skills in script writing, broadcast production, research, interviewing, documentary production and production management.
You will be taught by lecturers who have made feature films, documentaries and worked in television and radio. They have decades of industry experience and will give you cutting edge training in the skills the industry is looking for now.
Careers - use your skills
There will be plenty of opportunities to showcase your skills in real theatre environments during the annual Children’s Festival, TV scenes, show-reels and the magical Shakespeare in the Park Festival. Graduates of this degree have gone on to work as collaborative artists, events managers, actors, playwrights and screenwriters.
