Entry requirements

  • Year 12 English (4 SA) or equivalent
  • Science majors: applicants for the Mathematics major or Mathematics and Statistics major are also required to have achieved a level of Sound Achievement over four semesters in Queensland Senior (Year 12) Mathematics B (4 SA) or equivalent
  • If you completed Year 12 at a Queensland secondary school you will be assessed for entry on the basis of your Overall Position (OP) or equivalent score.
  • Year 12 students from other states or territories are considered for entry on the basis of their UAI, ENTER or TER and the subject prerequisites indicated. Other applicants will be based on their overall Rank.

Credit for previous study or work experience

You may be eligible for credit if you have previously studied or have relevant work experience. This will help to reduce the number of courses that you need to study to finish your program.

English language requirements

  • IELTS: 6.0 (or better) (no component lower than 5.5)
  • TOEFL (paper based): 550 (or better) (with minimum test of written English score of 4.5) 
  • TOEFL (electronic): 213 (or better) (with essay rating of at least 4.5) 
  • TOEFL (internet based): 80 (or better) (with 19 minimum in all bands) 
  • Pearson (PTE Academic): 50 (or better) (with no communicative score lower than 50) 
  • Singapore, Hong Kong, British 'O' Level English: 'C' or better

Pre-requisites

Year 12 Senior Certificate or equivalent from a recognised institution. Find your country's level of qualification and minimum entry requirements for this program.

  • Arts majors: Students seeking to enrol in creative media, music, theatre or visual arts courses must pass the relevant audition/portfolio/interview requirements
  • For Science majors: A-level mathematics1 or equivalent
  • A-level biological science, chemistry, physics, or multi-strand science or equivalent, depending on major selected

1 The Human Biology, Human Physiology and Biology majors only have three core courses. If students do not have the recommended Mathematics B level for entry then they will be required to undertake MAT1000 as an elective. Alternatively, an additional elective may be required to be taken to complete the 24 units to graduate.
