Double your qualifications

The Bachelor of Business and Bachelor of Laws double degree is designed to provide you with exposure to multiple skill areas and employment opportunities in both the disciplines of Business and Law. While studying this double degree you will gain essential knowledge to help increase your skills through a range of Business and Law courses including Economics, Marketing, Data Analysis, Company Law and Criminal Law. This double degree combines theoretical knowledge with practical experience to help you become successful in whichever career pathway you choose.

You can choose from a number of different Business majors including Administrative Management, Human Resource Management, Information Technology Management, International Business, Management and Leadership, Marketing, Supply Chain Management, and Tourism Management.

When graduating with a double degree, you will receive a separate testamur (official certificate) for each degree and will be able to complete the double degree in less time than if you chose to study the two degrees separately.

Career opportunities

This double degree opens up many career opportunities for graduates including private practice solicitor or barrister, government departments, non-government agencies, legal organisations and, depending on business specialisation, business development manager, media liaison, training and development, workplace relations, occupational health and safety, and production manager.

Professional accreditation

The Bachelor of Business and Bachelor of Laws has been accredited by the Legal Practitioners Admissions Board, Queensland, and the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Queensland as an approved academic qualification under the Supreme Court (Legal Practitioner Admission) Rules 2004 (Qld). This will partially satisfy the requirements to practise as a solicitor or barrister in Queensland, or as a legal practitioner elsewhere in Australia.

Intending solicitors and barristers must also complete an approved practical legal training course in order to become admitted to practice. USQ law graduates have the option of completing their practical legal training through a one-year traineeship in a law practice, or through another institution that offers a practical legal training qualification.
