Bachelor of Creative Arts (Music)

Imagine bringing music to a packed house at some of the best venues around the world, working behind the scenes as a promoter or music critic, or supporting developing talent by teaching. Our Bachelor of Creative Arts (Music) will offer you practical and theoretical majors to develop your skills in music performance, and enhance your understanding and appreciation of music.

Choose your specialisation

You can choose from two distinct specialised areas within the Music major: classical and contemporary jazz performance, and music theory and history studies. This degree’s structure allows you to dedicate 20 of your 24 courses to your specialisation. We encourage studio practice and offer the facilities to support it. There are also opportunities for tuition in piano, contemporary singing, pipe organ, upper strings, flute, clarinet, saxophone, brass, and percussion.

A musical career

This is an excellent first degree for the emerging musician who wants to develop their ensemble work and develop their creative potential in writing/performing new music theatre innovations. You will be well-equipped with the skills to become a soloist or part of an ensemble, jazz performer, repetiteur, music critic, music administrator, librarian, concert promoter, accompanist, orchestral musician, scholar, studio teacher, secondary school teacher (with further study).
