What is a Biologist?

A biologist is a scientist who is involved with the study of all things life including humans, animals, plants and other living organisms and their environments. Biologists may choose to work in more applied research situations where they draw upon their base level biological research knowledge to develop and/or improve medical, industrial or agricultural processes.

Biologists work in a variety of settings including public and private laboratories, hospitals, government institutions, healthcare and agricultural organisations.

Other titles for biologists include life scientist, immunologist, anatomist, physiologist, zoologist, botanist, microbiologise, ecologist or geneticist.
