Bachelor of Health (Biomedical Science major) prepares students for the Graduate Australian Medical Schools Admissions Test (GAMSAT) to seek entry into postgraduate medicine.
Doctors, also known as general or medical practitioners or physicians, apply scientific knowledge for the diagnosis and treatment of physical and mental illnesses and injuries, and prescribe medications to restore the health of their patients. General practitioners can undertake additional education and training in a variety of specialisations including, obstetrics, psychiatry, neurology, paediatrics and surgery, among many others.
Doctors work in a variety of settings including public and private hospitals, private practices or clinics, community health centres and the defence forces, among many others.
