How do I qualify as a Nurse?

The following pathway will help you on your journey to working in the nursing profession as a registered nurse:

1. Bachelor of Nursing

This pathway would also suit hospital trained nurses looking to obtain a nursing degree and they may be eligible for significant exemptions enabling them to obtain their degree in 8 courses.

Professional accreditation

Graduates of the Bachelor of Nursing are eligible to apply for registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and may also become members of the Royal College of Nursing Australia.

The Bachelor or Nursing is a pathway to graduate entry midwifery and mental health programs and other specialties within nursing and health care.

What is a nurse?

Nurses work in the health care profession and are skilled to provide physical care and health education to people in a multitude of settings.

As well as traditional roles in hospitals, aged care, indigenous health or paediatrics, nurses may also end up working for the Army, international aid agencies, schools and even the mining sector. Nurses can work full-time, part-time or casually and easily find work when they return to the profession.
