Graduate Certificate in Engineering Science (Environmental Engineering)

USQ’s Graduate Certificate in Engineering Science (Environmental Engineering) is ideal if you have a three year engineering degree and you want to extend your knowledge in environmental engineering. You don’t even need work experience to commence your postgraduate studies in this degree.

Through this four unit degree, you will study advanced level environmental engineering, empowering you to apply engineering solutions to environmental problems and the sustainable management of vital soil and water resources.

Further study

When you complete your Graduate Certificate in Engineering Science you could take the credit from your studies and go on to complete the Graduate Diploma of Engineering Science. You could even go on to complete the Master of Engineering Science where you will have the opportunity to do a research project and dissertation to apply your formal knowledge to a real world issue.

Career opportunities

Environmental engineering at USQ provides you with the knowledge and skills to be an 'environmental problem-solver'. You would work in water and wastewater treatment, river hydrology, soil conservation, irrigation, salinisation, drainage, mine site rehabilitation, environmental studies, water resources engineering, soil science, engineering problem solving and management.

Professional accreditation

The Graduate Certificate in Engineering Science is not accredited by any professional bodies other than the University of Southern Queensland. It does however provide a pathway to the Master of Engineering Science which is provisionally accredited with Engineers Australia for membership as a graduate Professional Engineer.
