Graduate Diploma of Engineering Science (Power Engineering)
USQ’s Graduate Diploma of Engineering Science (Power Engineering) is ideal if you have a three year engineering degree and you want to extend your knowledge and practical experience in power engineering. You don’t even need work experience to commence your postgraduate studies in this degree.
Through this eight unit degree, you will do a combination of advanced study and practice of power systems, including power generation, distribution and transmission.
Further study
When you complete your Graduate Diploma of Engineering Science you could take the credit from your studies and go on to complete the Master of Engineering Science where you will have the opportunity to do a research project and dissertation to apply your formal knowledge to a real world issue.
Career opportunities
Power engineers are at the forefront of alternative power sources such as solar and wind energy. As a power engineering graduate, you will increase your employability in power supply and distribution, power generation, mining, rail and transport, and consultancy.
Professional accreditation
The Graduate Diploma of Engineering Science is not accredited by any professional bodies other than the University of Southern Queensland. It does however provide a pathway to the Master of Engineering Science which is provisionally accredited with Engineers Australia for membership as a graduate Professional Engineer.
