Graduate Diploma of Psychological Studies

Unique bridging course

Are you a teacher, nurse, engineer or accountant looking for a career change? Perhaps you have an undergrad psych degree but didn’t achieve the GPA you needed to study honours? Whatever your journey, the Grad Dip Psych Studies offers those of you with a Bachelor degree potential access to honours study in psychology. As one of the few bridging courses of its type in the country, the Grad Dip in Psych Studies fulfills the Australian Psychology Accreditation Council (APAC) requirements relating to three-year undergraduate training. Don’t live near Toowoomba? Don’t worry – you can study the degree entirely by distance.

Careers

Would you like to help people deal with stress, relationship problems, illness or trauma? USQ’s Grad Dip in Psych Studies is designed specifically for those of you wanting to become a psychologist. But you’ll have to work hard. Really hard. Because on completion of the Grad Dip we only accept the crème de la crème – the most hardworking students, the smartest, the brightest into Honours – in fact, you’ll need a GPA of at least 5 to be eligible to apply. Getting a place in Honours is competitive so the higher your GPA the better your chance of being offered one of our limited Honours spots. Need some positive news? We’re famous for our student support.

Industry accreditation

The Grad Dip in Psych Studies fulfils the APAC requirements relating to three-year undergraduate training, but you will need to complete further study if you want to register as a Psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency or join the Australia Psychological Society.
