Graduate Diploma of Spatial Science Technology (Surveying)

USQ’s Graduate Diploma of Spatial Science Technology (Surveying) is ideal if you have a three or four year bachelor degree in a field other than engineering and you want to extend your knowledge in surveying. You don’t even need work experience to commence your postgraduate studies in this degree.

Through this eight unit degree, you have the option to select from a range of courses (subjects), including surveying computations, geodetic surveying, photogrammetry and remote sensing.

Further study

When you complete your Graduate Diploma of Spatial Science Technology you could take the credit from your studies and go on to complete the Master of Spatial Science Technology where you will have the opportunity to do a research project and dissertation to apply your formal knowledge to a real world issue. If you are considering continuing onto a Master’s degree, your choice of courses may have an impact later. It is best to have a chat to our Student Relationship Officers before finalising your decision on courses.

Career opportunities

As a surveying graduate, you could work in property surveying, land development, land information, mapping, engineering, and mining. Your experience could see you working on unique solutions to problems – solutions that are both socially and environmentally responsible.

Professional accreditation

The Graduate Diploma of Spatial Science Technology is not accredited by any professional bodies other than the University of Southern Queensland.
