Graduate Diploma of Teaching (Middle Schooling)
Looking for travel or adventure?
If you are an international student, or Australian citizen or permanent resident living off-shore and are looking to teach outside Australia, our completely online Graduate Diploma of Teaching (Middle Years) enables those of you with a Bachelor degree in another field other than education to become a teacher in one short year.
Middle School Years
Middle school years (from ages 10 to 14) is a time when children undergo significant physical, emotional and mental changes. It is an exciting time to support them as they move through these important developmental years.
Career opportunities
The Graduate Diploma of Teaching is focussed on allowing its graduates to complete a pre-service teacher education qualification which may satisfy the requirements for qualified teacher status, or equivalent, in other countries.
Teaching-related skills of communication and educational management are also in demand in careers such as sport and leisure centre management and human services.
Professional accreditation
As this program’s graduates will not be required to undertake a professional experience placement in an Australian school, they will not be eligible for registration as a teacher with the Queensland College of Teachers.
If you would like to be eligible for Queensland College of Teachers Registration you may like to consider the Graduate Diploma of Learning and Teaching (Middle Schooling).
