Entry requirements

To apply you must:

  • have completed an Australian Psychology Accreditation Council (APAC)-accredited 4-year degree in psychology wihtin the last 10 years
  • provide two satisfactory referee reports (Word 46 KB) and a report to address the Selection Criteria (PDF 109 KB)
  • be assessed in an interview with a panel of departmental staff
  • be eligible for provisional registration as a psychologist with the Pscyhology Board of Australia.

Before commencing the program, students must have General Registration with Probationary Conditions or full registration from the Psychologists Board of Australia.

Credit for previous study or work experience

You may be eligible for credit if you have previously studied or have relevant work experience. This will help to reduce the number of courses that you need to study to finish your program.

English language requirements

  • IELTS: 7.0 (no component lower than 7.0)
  • TOEFL (paper based): 600 (with minimum test of written English score of 5)
  • TOEFL (electronic): 250 (with essay rating of at least 5)
  • TOEFL (internet based): 95(or better) (with 22 minimum in all bands)
  • Pearson (PTE Academic): 65 (with no communicative score lower than 65)
  • Singapore, Hong Kong, British 'O' Level English: 'C' or better
