Professional development opportunities
We offer opportunities for students, staff and the global learning community to engage in various professional development opportunities, ranging from seminars, conferences and workshops, to single courses which may be taken online or on campus over three semesters.
Students and education communities
Transition to Teaching seminars
Each year we hold a series of presentations by our staff and international scholars, along with forum-style panel sessions for final-year students. The Transition to Teaching presentations prepare our soon-to-be-graduates for the world of teaching. Final-year students across all Bachelor of Education programs and Graduate Diploma of Learning and Teaching students are encouraged to attend. The sessions are held at Toowoomba campus and made available via video conferencing or webstreaming facilities at Fraser Coast and Springfield. Online webstreaming of the presentations will be available if you are unable to attend on campus.
Education Commons
Education Commons is a space where students from all Education programs willl meet regularly with the professional education community of the Darling Downs and beyond; USQ staff and former Education students:
-
to discuss hot topics in teacher education
-
to network with other educators
-
to transition from student to teacher
-
to gain real world insight
Sessions are held at the Toowoomba campus, and recorded for online viewing. For more information contact Karen Noble or Robyn Henderson.
See our news and events page for other upcoming professional development events.
