About Primary and Middle Schooling
Primary and middle schooling focuses on students from Prep to Year 9. This connects the early years of schooling (Prep to Year 3) with the middle years of schooling (Years 4 to 9). The middle years of schooling have been identified as a time when young people are experiencing the greatest physical, emotional, intellectual and social changes in their lives. It is also a time when many students lose enthusiasm for learning. Students studying primary and middle schooling will develop a range of teaching and learning skills and strategies to enable them to design creative and effective learning environments.
Professional Accreditation (if applicable)
Our pre-service programs are recognised by the Queensland College of Teachers, the major professional body in Queensland. Most programs also qualify you to register with similar bodies in other states.
Please note: The Queensland College of Teachers is required to conduct national criminal history checks on all new applicants for teacher registration in Queensland. A “Working with Children” check will also be carried out prior to commencement of any professional experience.
