Youth Leadership Program
In February this year more than 100 high school captains and prefects from schools across the region took part in our fifth annual Youth Leadership Program.
We welcomed students from 18 schools from schools as far west as Charleville, south to Stanthorpe and east to the Lockyer District.
The event provided a stimulating day of seminars, workshops and sessions designed to help students understand leadership and develop leadership skills. The keynote address was from high-profile motivational speaker John Dickson. A highlight of the day was Robert Ketton's seminar on how to become a more dynamic public speaker.
Sharing their experiences of leadership during an interactive forum were a number of special guests.
The Youth Leadership Program was proposed by local secondary schools to enhance and extend the skills of students as youth leaders. Participants are chosen by their school for their commitment to leadership as school captains and prefects. The workshop currently runs for one day and gives these school leaders knowledge and encouragement to build on their skills.
