Placement process

The placement process will vary according to where you are located and which course you are studying. You should check your USQStudyDesk and your UMail inbox frequently to make sure you receive any reminders or instructions.

Getting started

Step 1 

 Check your placement dates and your course requirements:

Step 2 

 Arrange placement depending on where you live and the course you are enrolled in, this may mean approaching a school yourself, or lodging preferences with the Professional Experience Office

Step 3  Notify the Professional Experience Office of any special circumstances or conflicts of interest you might have that would affect your placement. 
Step 4  Check SONIA for your final confirmed placement details and to find contact details for your site coordinator and USQ liaison. No placement can be commenced until it has been confirmed on SONIA.
Step 5  Contact your site coordinator, your USQ liaison and your mentor.
Step 6 An information pack will be sent to the school at least five days before you commence your placement.
