The Faculty of Education is committed to research activity that draws on both established strengths and emerging areas, and that’s consistent with our goals: facilitating high quality research outcomes; mentoring programs; publishing opportunities and support for external research grant applications. In recent years, the research activities of the Faculty have been broadened by the establishment of Faculty research teams and a new Faculty research centre. Our collaborative research structure, as well as our emphasis on innovation and emerging themes, means we’re well positioned to deal with future challenges being ushered in by an emerging Excellence in Research in Australia (ERA) environment. Our current research includes the use of remote access laboratory technology to promote creative thinking with children. Our researchers are also at the forefront of research into the integration of ICT in teaching, online education and educational leadership. The Faculty enjoys close partnerships with both government bodies and the private sector, ensuring our research is relevant and makes a difference.
