Research

We aim to foster and support research concerned with the theoretical and applied aspects of educational policy and practice within diverse social, cultural and political contexts.

Our research is characterised by collaborative partnerships within our Faculty and across various institutions, agencies and other educational communities. Our staff have particular strengths in the areas of educational leadership and management, social change and diverse communities, and teaching, learning and curricular issues. Our staff undertake research projects that are supported, in part, by competitive external grants and consultancies.

We are currently positioning ourself strategically to take advantage of emerging research themes and the work of collaborative staff research groupings is becoming increasingly important.

Mentoring programs

We have an active research training and mentoring program for postgraduate students at the honours, masters, and doctoral levels. Staff and postgraduate students regularly present seminars, papers and workshops within the Faculty and at national and international conferences on emerging conceptual and methodological directions in the field.

Visiting scholars

We welcome visiting scholars and the significant contributions they can make to research activities and outcomes within the Faculty.
