FYI - what to do when you don't know what to do

For many students, university study is a big step to take. Some of you may be concerned about how you will fit into the university context. Others may be wondering how to cope with the demands of university study; and others may be questioning how to best juggle study along with work and/or family commitments. We also recognize that some of our new students have not been students for some time and others may have had less than positive experiences in the past.

If you are feeling a little apprehensive about how you are going to cope with study, then please take the opportunity to join the group of students and staff who meet once a week to problem-solve the issues that students identify. If you would like to know what to do when you don't know what to do, then please come join the FYI (For Your Information) group.

Education Commons - 2012

Future teachers have the opportunity to engage in discussions of 'hot' topics for a new generation of educators.  On selected Tuesday afternoons during semester, a panel - consisting of members from the professional educational community of the Darling downs including experienced teachers, members of teacher professional associations and Faculty academics - will discuss a key topic with an audience of USQ students.

Following each panel session,  'pedagogical conversations' will explore key themes that emerged from each panel discussion.  These conversations will make for exciting and thought-provoking discussions over a shared afternoon tea.

Students that are unable to attend in person can access video clips and join the discussion forums via the Education Commons community website.  Simply create an account to access the site.

Sessions are held at the Toowoomba campus on selected Tuesday afternoons from 2-4pm in room G414.
