Becoming an Educator

Discover information for school leavers, mature-age students and those who have already completed a degree or vocational qualification in another area of study, on the program you will need to complete to become an educator.

Programs and courses

Our programs and courses give you the opportunity to choose from a number of specialist areas, including early childhood, primary and secondary schooling, technical and vocational education and training, and special education. They are designed to create leaders in learning technologies and stimulate a passion for lifelong learning.

Admission

The process in applying to USQ will depend on what level of study you will undertake and what type of student you are.

Scholarships and prizes

You may be eligible to apply for a USQ scholarship to assist you financially. Faculty of Education scholarships are awarded to future students and current students as they undertake their degree studies.

Prizes sponsored by the university and various organisations are presented at graduation to outstanding students within the faculty.

Recognition of Prior Learning

Course exemptions may be granted for equivalent study, or where you have achieved the objectives of the relevant course from a recognised university or institution, such as TAFE Queensland or the Australian Defence Force Academy. More information on Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is available on this website.
