Scholarships and prizes

USQ offers scholarships to outstanding students who have demonstrated academic excellence, leadership and participation in the wider community. Scholarships are also available to those students adversely affected by financial hardship.

Scholarships are offered for the following:

• Academic excellence -new student
• Academic excellence -continuing student
• Equity (hardship) - new student
• Equity (hardship) - continuing student
• Master of Education (postgraduate) - new student
• International postgraduate scholarships

Faculty prizes

At each April graduation the Faculty awards a number of prizes to graduates in both undergraduate and postgraduate programs: 

Undergraduate prizes

• Australian College of Educators Prize, for outstanding performance in a pre-service teacher education program.
• Australian Association of Special Education (Darling Downs Branch) Prize, for outstanding performance in the Bachelor of Education with a specialisation in Special Education.
• SPERA and QLD ICPA Rural Education Prize, for outstanding achievement in coursework related to rural education and successful practical teaching experiences in rural settings. 
• Queensland Society for Information Technology in Education Prizes (2), awarded to the best graduate from the Bachelor of Education (Primary or Primary/Middle) program who has completed an ICT/computer focus area of study. Awarded to the best graduate from the Bachelor of Education (Senior/Middle or Secondary) who has completed a major or teaching area in ICT/Computer Studies.
• Science Teachers Association of Queensland Prize, awarded to the best graduate from the Bachelor of Education (Senior/Middle or Secondary) who has completed a Science teaching area.
• Queensland Association of Mathematics Teachers Inc sponsor two bursaries for outstanding achievement in the Bachelor of Education (Primary, Primary/Middle, Secondary or Senior/Middle) with a mathematics teaching area.
• Business Educators' Association of Queensland Inc, awarded to the best graduate from the Bachelor of Education (Secondary or Senior /Middle) who has completed a Business teaching area.

Postgraduate prizes

• Australian College of Educators Prize, for the outstanding postgraduate research/project in the Faculty of Education.
• Australian Association of Special Education (Darling Downs Branch) Prize, for outstanding performance in a postgraduate program, with a specialisation in Special Education. 
• The Australian Council of Educational Leaders (Queensland) Prize, for the outstanding student in a postgraduate program, with a specialisation in Leadership and Management.
• Dean's Awards for Academic Excellence, to recognise outstanding scholastic achievement in a Masters or Doctoral program in the Faculty of Education.
