About Early Childhood

Our early childhood programs emphasise child-centred learning and developing the skills to create effective teaching programs and learning environments that focus on the developing child.

The Bachelor of Education program is made up of core courses, specialisation courses and electives.

If you enrol in  the Bachelor of Early Childhood program you may - at any time throughout your enrolment - transfer into the Bachelor of Education program in order to become eligible for teacher registration.

Professional accreditation

The Bachelor of Education and Graduate Diploma in Learning and Teaching programs are recognised by the Queensland College of Teachers, the major professional body in Queensland, and qualify you to register with similar bodies in other states.

Please note: The Queensland College of Teachers is required to conduct national criminal history checks on all new applicants for teacher registration in Queensland. A 'Working with Children' check will also be carried out before you undertake any professional experience.

Our Child Care programs are accredited by the Department of Communities, Queensland.

Postgraduate certificates and Masters programs do not in themselves, qualify graduates for teacher registration.
