Background
Joe Roff is the third most capped player in Australian Rugby history.  He was involved in three World Cups, including Australia's victory in 1999. Joe also played for Australia's most successful province over the past 10 years, the ACT Brumbies, where he helped his side win two titles, in 2001 and 2004.  He has also taken a year out playing in Biarritz, France and also a year playing in Tokyo, Japan. Joe retired from professional rugby in 2006.
Testimonial Throughout Joe's time playing professionally in Australia and abroad he continued his studies, but not without difficulty. 'I had been to three, how would you say, less helpful universities, who were not understanding of the demands of professional sport and the difficulty of combining it with studies.  I finally settled at USQ'. He completed his degree in Applied Finance (BAppFin) in 2003. 'It took longer than I had hoped, but that was due to the demands of rugby at the time. The support that the distance education faculty provided was instrumental in my completing the degree.'

Joe's first undergraduate degree has allowed him to continue his studies at Oxford University in England. 'Without my degree from USQ, this opportunity would simply not have been possible.' He is currently working towards completing a politics, philosophy and economics degree in 2008.
