Professional Accreditation

Graduates are eligible to apply to become members of a range of professional organisations, depending on their area of study.

  • Engineering programs in the Bachelor of Engineering and the Bachelor of Engeineering Technology are accredited by Engineers Australia (EA) and, in particular our Bachelor of Engineering program has an additional agreement reached between the professional engineering bodies of other countries (the Washington Accord), is also recognised in the United Kingdom, the United States of America, Canada, Ireland, Hong Kong, New Zealand and South Africa.

  • Spatial Science programs are accredited by the Spatial Sciences Institute Australia and the Surveyors Board of Queensland. The accreditation is accepted through reciprocal agreements with the Surveyors Boards in all Australian States and New Zealand.

Bachelor of Engineering

A graduate of the Bachelor of Engineering program or a combined degree is eligible to apply for graduate membership of Engineers Australia. After further professional development, a graduate member with a Bachelor of Engineering may apply for chartered status and, when granted, may use the post-nominal MIEAust CPEng.


Bachelor of Engineering Technology

A graduate of the Bachelor of Engineering Technology program is eligible to apply for graduate membership of  Engineers Australia as an engineering technologist. After further professional development, a graduate member with a Bachelor of Engineering Technology may apply for chartered status as an engineering technologist and, when  granted, may use the post-nominal TMIEAust CEngT.


Associate Degree in Engineering

A graduate of the Associate Degree in Engineering program is eligible to apply for graduate membership of  Engineers Australia as an engineering officer. After further professional development, a graduate member with an Associate Degree may apply for chartered status as an engineering officer and, when granted, may use the post-nominal OMIEAust CEngO.


Bachelor of Spatial Science

The Bachelor of Spatial Science program provides eligibility to apply for graduate registration with the Surveyors Board, and with one year work experience full professional certification and specialist certification with the Spatial Science Institute. Graduates are also eligible to apply for membership of the Australian Engineering and Mining Surveyors and the Australian Institute of Mine Surveyors.


Bachelor of Spatial Science Technology

The Bachelor of Spatial Science Technology program provides eligibility to apply for graduate registration with the Surveyors Board, and with two and a half years work experience full professional certification and specialist certification with the Spatial Science Institute. Graduates are also eligible to apply for membership of the Australian Engineering and Mining Surveyors and the Australian Institute of Mine Surveyors.


Associate Degree in Spatial Science

The Associate Degree in Spatial Science program provides eligibility to apply for graduate registration with the Surveyors Board, and with four years work experience full professional certification and specialist certification with the Spatial Science Institute. Graduates are also eligible to apply for membership of the Australian Engineering and Mining Surveyors and the Australian Institute of Mine Surveyors.
