Visiting Research Fellowships

Researchers from other institutions are invited to apply for Visiting Research Fellowship positions within the Faculty of Engineering and Surveying. Visiting Researchers will normally work closely with faculty staff on a specified research project of mutual interest within one of the Research Centres allied to the Faculty.

Prospective visiting researchers should first make contact with an academic who holds similar research interests. If a suitable project can be identified, the Dean of the Faculty may recommend appointment to an appropriate adjunct or visiting position .

Visiting appointees will have access to and use of University facilities and resources as determined by the appropriate Faculty or Section and will be covered by the University’s Intellectual Property Policy. In the case of the Faculty of Engineering and Surveying, facilities and resources may typically include:

• Office space with access to the internet, email facilities and appropriate secretarial support. A desk, chair, computer and normal stationary resources.

• Where appropriate and agreed, access to specialised, discipline-specific computer software; and access to laboratories and assistance from technical support staff.

• The opportunity to negotiate with the Faculty to provide agreed paid teaching, tutoring and marking within its course and programs. This amount would not normally exceed $250 per calendar week.
