2007 Awards and PrizesThe following Faculty of Engineering and Surveying prizes are donated by government and industry organisations. Multiple awardsGraduates of one undergraduate program who subsequently complete a higher level undergraduate program in the same field of study, having been granted a substantial amount of credit based on their previous studies, are not permitted to use both awards.
Continuing Student PrizesContinuing Prizes - Bachelor of EngineeringAustralian Steel Institute (ASI) Undergraduate Steel Design Award for the student who achieves the highest marks in his/her steel related courses CIV2503 Structural Design I and CIV3505 Structural Analysis. Engineers Australia Prize for the student who achieves an outstanding standard in Second Level Bachelor of Engineering degree in any of the majors Computer Systems, Electrical and Electronic, Instrumentation and Control or Software Engineering. Engineers Australia Prize for the student who achieves an outstanding standard in Third Level Bachelor of Engineering degree in any of the majors Computer Systems, Electrical and Electronic, Instrumentation and Control or Software Engineering. Ergon Energy Prize for the student who achieves the highest academic standard in First Level of the Bachelor of Engineering Degree. Ergon Energy Prize for the student who achieves the highest academic standard in the Energy Systems Core Courses. Institution of Structural Engineers Prize for the student who completes a second and third level structural engineering course and achieves the highest academic standard. Mackay Sugar Prize is awarded to the student who achieves an outstanding grade point average in any four of the following 12 courses: NRM&W- Water Resources Prize for the Second Level Civil, Agricultural or Environmental Engineering Degree student who achieves the highest academic standard in the eight courses which comprise his or her Second Level. Sinclair Knight Merz Prize for the student in the Environmental Engineering degree who achieves the highest academic standard in the following courses:

Steel Reinforcement Institute of Australia (SRIA) Prize for the student who achieves the highest marks in CIV3506 Concrete Structures.
Zonta Advancement Award for the female student who has a high academic achievement and has completed Second or Third Level of on-campus mode study, or equivalent external study, of a degree program and is a resident of the Darling Downs region. The award will normally be given only once to any individual.

Australian Society of Soil Science Graduate Award (USQ) for the student with the highest academic achievement in the course AGR3304 Soil Science, other related soils courses and a soils related project.
Connell Wagner Prize for the student who delivers the best presentation of his/her final year project work at the Faculty of Engineering and Surveying Project Conference.
Engineers Australia Wilmoth Medal and Prize for the graduating student in the Bachelor of Engineering program who achieves a high academic achievement in Third and Fourth Levels, involvement in University affairs, involvement in community affairs, originality/initiative in Project.
Institution of Electrical Engineers Prize for the student who achieves outstanding overall performance in the final year of the Bachelor of Engineering majoring in Electrical and Electronic Engineering. Jim Black Memorial Bursary is awarded to a student who presents an excellent Project dissertation with a control or signal processing focus, with preference being given to students who have shown significant improvement in academic performance while progressing through the course. It is judged by the Examiner of Project and the Head of the Electrical, Electronic and Computer Engineering Discipline. Larkin Teys Consulting Structural Engineering Award for the student with the highest aggregate marks in the following courses: MEC2402 Stress Analysis, CIV2503 Structural Design I, CIV3505 Structural Analysis, CIV3506 Concrete Structures and CIV4508 Structural Design II. Main Roads Prize for the graduating student in the Bachelor of Engineering program who achieves the highest academic standard for the nominated courses CIV3703 Transport Engineering , CIV3403 Geotechnical Engineering and ENG3003 Engineering Management. RACQ Prize for Traffic/Highway Engineering for the graduating Bachelor of Engineering student who achieves the best project in the course ENG4111 Research Project Part 1 and ENG4112 Research Project Part 2 in the field of traffic or highway engineering. Rodney Rookwood Memorial Prize for the graduating student in the Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical), in external mode, who achieves high academic performance and notable involvement in community affairs. To be eligible for the award students must have completed at least 16 units at USQ that contribute to their Grade Point Average (GPA). Toowoomba Metal Technologies Manufacturing Prize for the Graduating Mechanical Engineering Student who achieves the highest academic standard in the Associate Degree in Engineering (Mechanical).
