HERDC preparation!
Have you deposited all of your 2011 papers into USQ ePrints? We are currently processing 2011 records in preparation for this year’s HERDC.
Please remember to upload both your Published and Author Post-Print versions where possible. The Author version is the one we are more likely to be allowed to display, while the Published version is required for reporting purposes. Don’t worry if you don’t know your publisher’s copyright policy - deposit your paper(s) anyway. The ePrints team will check the publisher’s policy and set the appropriate access level before your record is moved to the public site. Please remember to upload any verification documents you have, at the same time.
Author Browse changes
To meet the directives of a new 2012 ERA policy, we were required to enter authors‘ names into ePrints in whatever form appeared on their published papers, instead of as a single standardised format for each author as in the past. This has unfortunately meant that the current Author Browse list (http://eprints.usq.edu.au/view/people/) has begun to show multiple versions of your name. Currently, the ePrints team is working to create a search function that will combine these multiple formats of your name. We hope to have this ready in the not-too-distant future (see ‘ePrints upgrade’ news below).
Usage Statistics page
We apologise for the disappearance of the Usage Statistics Page. We were not satisfied with the reliability and accuracy of the statistics being generated, so have temporarily taken this page down. A new improved version is coming later this year (see ‘ePrints upgrade’ news below).
ePrints upgrade
The ePrints team is actively planning an ePrints upgrade for later this year. This will include improved author access, and an upgraded statistics page.
News and Help
We currently have over 8,200 items in USQ ePrints, many of which have an Author Post-Print or Published version available for viewing or downloading. However, an increasing number of the actual papers cannot be made publicly available, due to publisher copyright restrictions. If you have a live record where the paper you have provided has not been displayed, copyright restrictions are the most likely reason for your paper’s non-accessibility.
The (PDF 229KB)USQ ePrints Quick Guide for Depositors is available. Suggestions for inclusions and other changes to content are most welcome.
